Sambo & Judo School

I've been learning Judo at Combat Sambo Center in Staten Island, NY for several months now and really happy with this school! Every class kicks your butt like crazy with an amazing cardio and you get to learn different combos at the same time. I think it's a great way to learn to fight and get in shape for such affordable price! The school is great for private lessons as well since all the instructors are great and have a lot of experience in martial arts! If you want to learn to fight you got to spar and learn the skill at the same time, and that's what this school is focusing on. Anyway, I am really happy and highly recommend Combat Sambo Center for others!!

Anyone wanting to learn Judo should give this school a shot. When I was new to Combat Sambo Center, my Coach took the time to work with me and show me proper technique. All of the experienced fighters also made sure to point out certain nuances to me, and even though I was nervous to spar the first day, everyone went easy on me. It takes a couple of months to condition your shins, so bruises are to be expected, but it does get better. Overall, this is by far the best martial art that I've gotten into. I would recommend this gym in Staten Island, NY to everyone, it can be pretty brutal on the body sometimes, but it is addicting and makes strong, trust me!

My son has gone to Combat Sambo Center almost a year now and I already noticed positive changes in his mind and body. He was out of shape and only 5 feet tall. Now he is slimmer and taller and has more strength and energy. His coach is great, very encouraging and welcoming to beginners, and he makes me feel like he will be right there with my son, helping to achieve his goals. My son is absolutely happy with the program, techniques and atmosphere. He made new friends and very proud that they are so strong and energetic. This martial arts school in Staten Island and unique techniques and drills in teaching martial arts completely changed my son’s life. From the weak unhealthy self-doubt boy he grew into strong confident reliable individual. Highly recommended.
