Salon X

This place fixed a bad haircut I got. I will be going to get my next cut there for their kindness alone but also because everyone there seems to know what they are doing.

I moved to Jersey city about a year ago and I've been coloring my own hair out of desperation because I've not found a local Salon that met up to NYC standards. But, I did today! I'd go so far as to say that Salon X is the best salon in Jersey City for a few reasons: 1. Ambiance: The Salon itself is very special, though the location is somewhat hidden and off the beaten path. It's open and airy and peaceful, but also has an upscale vibe... without the upscale snootiness. 2. Kindness + Professionalism: Laurie (the owner) is lovely - very professional but super down to earth too. I liked her instantly and had this feeling that we'd met somewhere before. She was warm and thoughtful and kind... and kindness goes a long darn way these days! 3. Quality: The product (hair color) is high end and luscious, and Tricia (the colorist/hairdresser I worked with) was obviously talented. She was also very confident and thorough and did a great job on my color - thank God! 4. Country Music: There was country music playing instead of the usual crazy stuff you get at so many salons. It was refreshing. Honestly, I think if they had WiFi and a little cafe table, I'd stay there all day and hang out!

I just went to Salon X for the first time today. Cha Cha cut and styled my hair and I couldn't be more pleased. The service, cleanliness, and professionalism is apparent as soon as you walk in. I would recommend Salon X to anyone. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try it out. I already set up my next appointment!

I went here to get my hair and make-up done for my wedding. I had never been here before, but it was in the neighborhood. They did a truly lovely job. Both the hairstylist (Ashley) and the make-up artist (Laurie) are very talented and clearly highly skilled at what they do. They took my suggestions, didn't force anything on me, made sure I liked the look every step of the way. I looked so wonderful when I left that honestly, people stopped me in the street to tell me how beautiful I was! Haha!

Couldn't have asked for a better place than Salon X. They even came to watch me walk down the aisle (it was two blocks away in the park.) I would recommend this place with absolutely no reservations. :)
