Salon Vijin

fantastic salon, with luxury-level services at shockingly low prices in this neighborhood!

im writing this review because I fell in love with this place! their blowouts are under $40 and are way better than the mainstream competitors (dreamdry, drybar, etc). I also did the head massage/deep conditioning treatment that they offer and loved it- it completely hydrated my hair after the hellish winter we had. this is the best salon ive found living in the neighborhood for the last 2 years!

I learned about Salon Vijin from a college friend. We had always lamented about our frizzy, unpleasant curly, out of control hair. A year after college, I ran into her and was amazed at how beautiful, straight and healthy her hair was. She told me about Minoru and Salon Vijin. I decided to try Minoru’s hair straightening process (which he invented) myself, traveling to NY from Boston. What he did to my hair was nothing short of miraculous! Not only was my hair straight, but it was in *much* better condition afterwards. I could go camping/swimming/walking in the rain and not worry about having a frizzy mess of hair afterwards. Freedom at last!

I ended up moving to Colorado and have tried many different straightening techniques by other salons. None have even come close to Minoru’s technique and some have been down right disastrous. And most of them felt very toxic and left my hair smelling like a mess of chemicals vs Minoru’s technique which feels very healthy - no smell, no burning eyes, special protective oils, ionic water and he and his staff don’t even wear gloves when performing the straightening!

So now I only go to Minoru for hair straightening and I travel to see him. Wish he was closer but I’m grateful to have found someone who I trust and who is always on the cutting edge (no pun intended) of inventing or using the latest and greatest in hair care. If I could give him and his friendly, wonderful staff 6 stars I would!
