There is one New York experience that draws me back, year after year, and that is sailing on the Yacht Ventura. Its captain, Patrick Harris, is a person whose passion is being at the helm in New York Harbor and making his passengers feel as though they are family. Yes, I mean it when I say "family" because I have known Pat for over 25 years and I began as a passenger, but that lasted about 1 minute (or the time it takes to step from the dock onto the boat!)
He has meticulously restored the Ventura to its 1920s grandeur and is so proud of the vessel, he most resembles a sea captain of a merchant vessel insofar as the Ventura is his true love, his sweetheart. Pat handles the Ventura will such respect and love, that you become part of a very special experience while onboard.
