We've been here the second time now and everything was excellent again! We had a bottle of Wine (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo - Cantina Colonella), a few appetizers (olives, and the appetizer special of the day), the pasta special, braised beef shank, and spaghetti. As a desert we chose the flourless hazelnut cake. The restaurant is definitely one of our top 5 in New York ! Not to forget the atmosphere there, everything is just perfect. *Lecker*

Delicious and trendy. Very small and crowded but that makes it fun. Very cool ambiance with great food, drinks, and wine! Try the bolognese for sure.

One of the things I love about Brooklyn is the amount of neighborhood restaurants throughout the area. We were craving Italian food and happened upon Rucola.
It's a small restaurant that has a nice bar area. Seating is a bit tight, but not so close that you are sharing dinner with your neighbors.
We started with a salad that was fresh but forgettable. The dressing lacked flavor and there was virtually no seasoning.
For the entrées we went with a fresh pasta dish - Strozzapreti. It was served with a roasted mushrooms, sage, and Grana Padano. Without a doubt this is the dish that would keep me coming back. The subtle flavors and expertly prepared pasta was superb.
Our other entrée was the roasted chicken. It was dry and lacked flavor. The chicken was also served on a bed of slaw which did not pair well.
Their wine list could use an update as the offerings are not the best you can find for the price points being asked.

Very attractive small space. Charcuterie was excellent and we should have stopped there. Pork Bolognese was ok, porchetta was nothing special. Next time I would have charcuterie and wine and that's it.

I like this neighborhood restaurant. The bartender was so gracious when I was eating alone at the bar. She made me feel really welcome. I had the fluke crudo with pickled green tomatoes, basil and sunflower seeds. Other times we've had the chefs charcuterie an antipasto platter. For mains I had the porchetta with black garlic bagna cauda and herb salad. My only wish was that the skin on the porchetta was crispier. Go early so you can get a table because it's a busy little place.
