The doctors are amazing and so caring the nurses are great with children. I recommend this office to anyone looking for a great pediatric doctor

My son has had multiple very complex medical challenges and Dr. Barbara Strassberg, at Riverdale Pediatrics, has stood by us with brilliance, kindness, cheer, and steadfastness. When my son was too immuno-comprimised to be in the ER and no one could figure out how to directly check him into the hospital she cheerfully sat down at the hospital computers and did it herself. When specialty doctors dropped his case in frustration at not being able to solve it, she stayed with us. When he had multiple unsuccessful medications and treatment plans from multiple services she helped us figure how how to manage not just the medicine but the politics and sadness and trauma. She is always responsive even when my son was ill at the worst of times. She is so bracingly intelligent and has so much expertise but she also listens and observes very carefully. When we were beaten down after months and years in and out of the hospital with a child among other things steadily losing weight, she visit us in isolation with carrot cake for him and jokes for us. She can light up a room of previously unhelpful medical staff. She wrote letters for us to take to the ER, she spent weekends applying to the NIH on our behalf, she has written letters to his schools and the Board of Ed. She has been a lifeline and a rock to us through the worst of times. I cannot say enough great things about her-- we owe her our lives. She is probably the only person in the world that when she has an opinion in contradiction to my own, I go with hers. Everyone in the office is very competent, our relationship was mostly with her though.
