River and Rail Cantina

We arrived to be told there was a 45 minute wait. We didn't mind because it was a nice night and would walk around the area. They took our phone number. When we returned 45 minutes later, having not received a phone call (with multiple open tables), the response from the hostesses was that they just got busy and were getting around to calling us. We were immediately seated though outside. Outside was lovely, more spacious, and much more quiet than inside...so if I return this will be my only seating preference. My party enjoyed their meals, but I did not enjoy my shrimp taco. There wasn't a lot of flavor and what was there did not compliment each other. The guacamole and tortillas were good. The salsa was not: it tasted and looked like marinara sauce with lime in it. Within a half hour after leaving the restaurant, my stomach began to hurt and I had indigestion the rest of the evening.
Ambiance/atmosphere- 4/5 but only for outside
Waitress- 5/5 because she was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and accurate
Food- 3/5 I would be willing to try one more dish
We agreed that we were glad we finally visited...would come again...but not in a rush to get back...a bit disappointed after all the hype.

I have been going to this place on many occasions for the past couple of months. Last night I waited over twenty minutes after being seated to get any service. When we received the check we complained about how long it took and the manager, Chris was called. He told us that he checked the cameras and that we only waited five minutes. He was completely rude saying that we should've complained when we were not served and he even walked away from us. Someone needs to tell him that you do not imply to your customers that they are liars and then leave walk away. I'm am extremely disappointed because I like the place but something has to be done about the management. Won't be returning again.

A nice new watering hole in Cranford. Great ambiance, friendly staff, the food I ordered (it was just nachos) were good, and the drinks were very strong.

No complaints whatsoever. Good spot!

Love this place so much! Been here a couple of times, and everytime is better then the last. The food and drinks are fantastic, and the atmosphere is amazing! I don't know why other people are giving so many bad reviews, but I would suggest giving it a try to anyone who's looking for a new and exciting place! Definitely will be back very soon! =)

WORST service ever! We waited on the patio for 35 minutes and no one ever came to take our order. A waitress came out, looked right at us then proceeded to walk off the patio .She returned 10 minutes later and again just looked at us and walked back inside the restaurant ... and NEVER came back! After 35 minutes we left. I called the restaurant and asked for a manager. A woman by the name of KC, who answered the phone put me on hold and then came back on to ask why I wanted a manager. After telling her, I was told that the manager on duty Chris, was too busy to come to the phone. I called back today and at 3:30 was told the manager was again too busy to come to the phone. My third call at 5:28 today was handled by Hannah who said the current manager Johnny, was not available to speak to me.
This place has a great space, but the staff is rude, not professional and the managers are killing this business. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!
