You can go here every day and the staff will not recognize you - this has always been the case. In contrast, Starbucks and Saratoga Roasters coonect with customer. The coffee is very good and the salmon sandwich is excellent

Really nice park. Sometimes it floods (normally only after a lot of rain) but it's a really nice place. There's a great view of NY and a lot of wildlife. Definately a good place to clear your head
& to add to previous comments- there are guards down there now. Ever since Sandy the gate has been "locked" but it's very easy to still enter the park. The trail is in good condition but according to the state it's """unsafe."""

Went birding here this morning. Found a lot of opportunities for good photos. Saw saw varieties of egrets, heron, sandpipers and more. Will certainly return. My only gripe was the person working the desk in the center. I entered to ask a question and she wouldn't answer anything insisting I sign in first then she told me about the center. I figure that the more people that sign in the busier she seems.

All in all it was an excellent experience, if they ever repair the Sandy damaged trail it'll be even better.
