The staff is pretty cool.. The gym is clean... I signed up in May and so far, it's cool.. The Spin Class by Derrill is pretty cool. It's always packed so try to come early. Try the Body Bootcamp with Dana.

I have no problem with the gym itself but the managers there are borderline criminal. They hit me with hidden sign up and annual fees that weren't in my contract and they refused to reverse them. They refused to honor the promotion of no sign up fees and charged me
months after the fact. I'm still fighting for my money back. Crooks.

This place is essentially a scam, in my experience, with inaccessible management and no accountability to its customers. "Mike," the "manager," is virtually unreachable, having always "just stepped out" and apparently incapable of returning calls. I became a member six weeks postpartum; soon thereafter, my doctor let me know I shouldn't be working out, and provided me with a medical note. Retro stopped charging me for two months, before calling and saying I would need yet another note… Despite it being the same issue. Because my doctor requires additional visits to provide notes, it's a tossup of whether I would rather pay a co-pay to see my doctor, or pay for a gym membership I'm medically prohibited from using. As I said, the whole set up turns out to just be a scam.

I tried this gym, and was very disappointed. I was not comfortable because it felt like I was working out with a group of kids. This gym is not for older adullts who are trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I had a terrible fall last year during the snowstorm. I still have difficulty walking, and due for additional surgery this month. I tried repeatdly to contact the manager by phone, but never received a return call. I was told I must go to the gym to pick up the paperwork to put my account on a medical hold. I am so disgusted with this gym. Never had an issue with Planet Fittness! Was able to put my account on hold over the phone, because Planet Fittness cared about my well being!!!

Convenient location on Washington St, and great additional amenitites (from chiropractic clinic to personal training room) to go with the gym experience. All the people that work behind the counter are always friendly and in a good mood, and love to chat. They got promotions for everything all the time, some of them in the form of contests. So if you wanna get free shakes or monthlies, step up your game!
