After they fixed my fuel pump it smelled like gas anytime I put up to 1/2 tank in my car. I googled it and assumed that that was normal for a new fuel pump however, last night I filled my tank for the first time, because I was going to be driving some distance. I then noticed liquid running from under my car down the gas station lot. I bent down to look under and gas was pouring out from under the car!! GAS! They are trying to kill me! I have never, ever felt like there was a possibility of me dying, in my 31 years of life, until then....at any time I feel like the car could have exploded. I think that the reason I was smelling gas at 1/2 tank is because it was leaking, but not noticeable. What if I ran over a lit cigarette? People always throw them out of their windows while driving. So much gas was coming out, I was so embarrassed and scared. Never again. I don't know why everyone else got such exceptional service here and I didn't but never again. I am not even taking the car back to them even though the work they did was under warranty because after that, I am just going to get a new car and take this BMW back to where I got it from. NEVER AGAIN! It cost me 3000 for this experience.

I took my car to Ray and Dana's and told them that it shut off on me and it wouldn't cut back on. They ran a diagnostic and performed $1800 worth of work fixing misfire issues and some other things. They said that since they had my car it started up every time. I told them that it cut off on me while I was driving and that I lost acceleration. I picked up my car yesterday and today it gave me the same issue that I originally brought my car in for. It stopped accelerating and the check engine light came back on. So now I have to take my car back to them for the original issue, on top of the almost 2k put into it. I am hoping for a solution that isn't full of extra work and another 2k. It is a BMW so I know that it's costly. But I would like to know why it is giving me acceleration issues. I took it to them because they are a reputable shop and I do trust them. But trust that they are about their money to the very dime. I am afraid to go back there because I feel like its going to cost me another couple thousand that I don't have.

Update: When I took the car back they determined that I needed a new fuel pump. Shelled out another $700 for that which is all that I initially needed. Since then the car has been running fine however my gas cap light kept coming on so it triggered my check engine light. Also anytime I put more than 1/2 tank of gas in my car the entire car smells like gas forever. I'm afraid to take it back. But I may have to since the work is covered by the warranty. But for everything else I'm going to the dealership. It'll cost the same and they'll prob throw in a free oil change or something.

The Pro's: they're a reputable shop. They stay up to date on all of the latest technology and can work on pretty much any car.

The warranty on the work they do is awesome.

They have good customer service.

Very nice shop. Comparable to a dealership.

Update 1/2/16: I filled my tank up for the first time since the repairs were done. I usually keep my tank at half full. Gas was leaking from under my car down the gas station lot in buckets. I have to take the car back. SMH.

I have been taking my cars for repairs and maintenance to Ray & Dana's for over 10 years and I can always count on their staff to be professional, courteous and trustworthy. I bring my car, my wife's car and the car my two teenage daughters drive. When my oldest daughter got her driver's license two years ago, I took the car she was going to be driving and had the folks at Inman Auto Care give it a courtesy check so I knew it would be safe and reliable for her to use.

I've been a customer of Ray & Dana's Inman Auto Care since my late husband and I moved to Rahway over 15 years ago. They came highly recommended from my husband's old boss. Dana has carried on the tradition of a quality and professionally run business that he learned from his father. I know I'll always be treated fairly and that I can trust Dana and his team to do what's best for my car at the best prices possible. Also, the team is up-to-date on all the new car technologies. More to love: the coupon book, the late night drop off, the Break for Breasts program, the friendly people, and the fact that I feel like I'm in an old-fashioned, family-run business from my childhood complete with the candy bowl on the counter!
