Slow and, I agree, also rude. There is one male clerk who condescends to every customer and after you wait on the line, he makes you go get something and then does not permit you back to his window -- you end up waiting on the line again!! No wonder the US post office is going under. Fire enough of them, hire "test" customers and weed out the negative, indignant human beings from the place. To think these people have good benefits and terrific retirement plans.

If I could give it negative stars, 5 wouldn't be enough. The staff is not only rude, but incompetent. Minimum wait time is 30 minutes, unless you go early at 7:30am. Service is awful too, they always have to have some rude remark even if you're just buying a stamp. Not to mention that the Postmaster is very disrespectful and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the Sunset Park Post offices if you need to do anything other than mailing a letter. Believe me, it's not as closely convenient as Fort Hamilton Station, but you'll save yourself the aggravation.
