I never write reviews, but today I experienced such terrible medical service that I don't want others to experience the same. The girl who drew my blood was on the phone the WHOLE time. She had headphones on and was talking when she went to get me from the waiting room, I only know the person was on the other line the WHOLE time because as I left she put her headphones back on and said "OK...Hello?" There must be some kind of privacy issue there?
The training in this office must not be a priority and that is scary considering it's such a high regarded lab. First, she didn't feel for a vein she gave a really good two slaps to my arm and pushed the needle where someone had previously tried yesterday. (I must add I have a hard time with getting blood drawn as they can never find my veins, but they are ALWAYS patient, and tell me what they are doing, ask me if I'm OK during the whole procedure, which I have no idea if it is standard but it is what I have experienced in the past.)
Without spending not even 2 seconds to look for a vein....She pushed the needle in so hard and so far deep that when she couldn't find the vein she pulled it out and a huge black, blue, yellow bump appeared immediately on my arm and wouldn't stop bleeding. She took a gauze and wiped my arm and needle tip AND then immediately stuck the SAME needle into a superficial vein on my arm. The SAME needle?! I don't know the standard practice but usually they get a new sterile needle... She was telling me that the tubes don't need to be filled all the way and she only filled them up a little bit each, which I am hoping I don't need to repeat the process of getting blood drawn. When I left she said "Bye" and then she put on her headphones and said "OK...Hello?" to I guess someone who was waiting for her? As I exited, my hand was numb and I felt nauseous as I walked by a room full of people in the waiting room.
As I said, I am writing this review so that no one has to experience this type of medical service. Go to another QUEST lab even if it's further away, this is definitely not worth your health or time!!
