Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire

My wife took her car here last week for a routine oil change. One week later, the car is leaking oil and had to be towed. Tow truck guy confirms whoever did the oil change did not seal the tank properly. Now we're both late for work after dealing with this nonsense. Never going back here obviously. Get it together.

The worst service! i would never go here. went for just oil change and the manager convinced me to do a package for $46 , so they do oil, full inspection, brake check, tire rotation etc. within 20 minutes i got a text my car is ready for pickup. i called and asked them is it really they done all of them. they said yes. so i walked back and as soon as i saw my car i noticed the tire rotation was not done. bcoz one of the tire has no rim cover. then i went and asked the manager is everything done, was the tire rotation done? he simply said yes. i said it was not done, then he asked the assitant to check with the mechanic inside and she came back saying it wasnt done. now i doubt even my previous times here might have been the same. the bad part is they dont even care abt that, not even responding properly, and not friendly at all. i would never go back here and would never recommend any one.

I went to this store on 07/25 to drop my car to check the flat tire. To start with it was a horrible experience. Staff over there is not friendly and no respect. After dropping my car over there I got a call that it cannot be repaired and it is ready to pick up. I went to pick up, it took 40 mins to give keys for the car which is ready to pick up, this is again after asking couple times for the keys, this is second case where I got pissed off about the staff. Finally I got my keys and went to my car, now it gets really weird, I see some difference in my Car door. When I checked with the front desk staff, they said they will check with the mechanic who checked my car. When we went back to car to see, I see clearly there is difference in my Car door and the way it is closing, but the mechanic cannot the feel the difference, about 5 mins of discussion I left the store. That guy kept on saying its OKAY nothing wrong, he is not at all interested in looking at it. When I reached home, I parked my car and suddenly I saw a dent at the bottom of the car door. I called the store once again, and asked informed about the dent. After 10 mins of hold, the lady said that to check with her Manager next day (as he is not available at that time). Next day when I called in the morning asking for the Manager, I got reply saying he is busy and call after sometime. I even stopped by again asking for manager, then they gave me an visiting card to contact which has the Store phone number which I kept calling. From then I feel my car has some problems, I went to check if my tire can be re-used, ended up with dent and issue with the door. I went to this store without seeing the reviews as it is near by and the BRAND name PEP BOYS. I never recommend this to anyone who has issues with the car.

Booked my car in for a service including oil change, fuel filer cleaned, tyre rotation and alignment, brake checking and AC recharge. Left the car at 12.30 I was told it would be ready at 3pm. 5pm comes by, still no phone call. I called and they said the technician that had been working on my car had left for the day and they are not sure what has been done! But I do need new brakes and rotors! F**king terrible way to run a business. Why on earth would I want to return again after that?

I brought my vehicle here because my recently done alignment and balance was never quite right. The guy at the desk was very meh about anything and everything, you could tell he didn't care about his job. I told him what I needed and he didn't seem too happy that it wasn't a "money" job but rather a warranty job. He lazily took me in, but before I could even finish my sentences he always had an answer against what I'd say. In any case, they took the car in and about 2 hours later called me and told me it was "done" but that they couldn't do anything about the alignment because the machine was broken. Mind you, I could see them working on other alignments on the same machine. Whatever the case, I just took my car and left. Later that day I came to realize they left me a nice surprise on the door of my car. A nice little indentation on it that is small, but noticeable and pretty much impossible to repair in any easy manner.

When I took it to the Pep Boys I normally go to in Pine Brook (and the one I should've gone to from the beginning) they let me know that they NEVER did the balance because it was completely off and if they DID, they did it horribly wrong.

Word to the wise, avoid this place at all costs. Not worth a dime. It will go down just like the one in downtown did.
