I bought a certified used vehicle that was obviously never even checked by this dealer. It had chips in the windshield, the connections on the battery were bad and 2 of the tires were in need of being changed. I would not bother buying certified from this place because it means nothing to them. I am pretty certain they just slapped a certified label on the vehicle and put it out for sale. Thankfully after some complaints to the sales manager they fixed the things that should have been done in the first place. I had to have my own mechanic go over the car and provide a list of things for them to fix. I also had to buy my own battery after getting stranded the second day I had the car because it would not start.

I gave it one star because I had to, otherwise it would be no stars at all. I can't imagine what the people who have rated this place over the one star minimum were thinking, I really can't. I have gone in to this place 3 times since moving to Caldwell, and every time I think it can't get any worse, it does. Walking into this place is depressing by itself, and then you get to encounter the people behind the desk, who look at you when you walk in and then look back down, no smiles, nothing... they bring you down as soon as you walk in, and then they continue with their "pleasant" attitudes.... I was late on my service appointment, and was told "you need to come in every 5000 miles"....like it was a personal insult that I hadn't been there on time for my 30,000 mile service.....sorry but the pleasant demeanor of you rays of sunshine is a little too much to handle so often. Maybe if you depressing, shell of humans would possibly be friendly or anything resembling that I might actually come in for my service, but honestly I hate it. Sure getting your car serviced is no special joy, but this, this is like being punished for buying a Toyota.

I'll just have to travel to another Toyota, which is really sad. How can people be so awful that a customer would rather drive many miles away just to get a simple service done?

Also, thanks for giving me that estimate I went in for....I asked happy desk guy about the estimate when he told me my car was done, and he told me the estimate was on the paperwork. Too bad I ran out of there without checking it first. No estimate. Called this place back....same cheery guy tells me "Bobby said he spoke to you about the estimate"...who the hell is Bobby? Never spoke to anyone, you told me it was on the paperwork, now Bobby talked to me?...great. I finally get in touch with Bobby, the body repairs guy, who says he never looked at any cars today. SO no estimate for me....no money for you. Thanks for nothing. Winners.

I cant even rate this dealer. If you are on your way, stop and turn around. They are an independent dealer that have to buy the Toyota brand from the real Toyota dealer, of course this is not advertised. When you go in to buy a car everything is so pleasant and perfect, unfortunately if you encounter a problem there is no courtesy even for a simple diagnostic you are charged a fee. My vehicle has a factory problem and to fix it they want $4000. Not even the decency of calling Toyota to try to accommodate a customer knowing it is manufacturer problem. They have no customer service in any of the department. If you are still going I do feel sorry for you at this time.

I bought a cerified car from them and had the brakes go a couple of months later and I only put on about 3,000 miles highway..I had to get a new drums and brakes. cost me $700 what a bunch of Crooks.
When I bought the car a had a noise in the steering column that they told me was the new eletronic one and that the sound was normal..Now I found out if is a defect and they will not replace it. $255 for the part and $444 for the labor plus tax..I dint let them touch it. They told me I need a cabin filter? What the hell did they check that for?? Money right..And that the manifold needed adjustment for better gas consunption...Crooks..STAY AWAY......................

This dealership is literally one of the most dishonest businesses that I have encountered.

I leased car from Caldwell Toyota in Jan 15. Like everyone, I was also welcomed & greet by sales person on my first visit. he treated me as like customer friendly and i was convinced to buy a leased car from them. It was all good till June as there was no problem. When i lost my key, i contacted sales person and asked to help in getting a new key. He assigned this task to someone from sales or service to address my issue and help. After 2 week of follow-up, i was asked to provide insurance papers. I personally went and handed over the papers. I was promised that some one will communicate / call in 2-3 days when the keys will be ready to pick-up. Since last 1 week i am regularly doing follow-up and trying to get help. Now the situation is they are avoiding my call and sales person says our job is over now please speak with service team. Is there any responsible person to help????
