Passaic County Community College

so unprofessional, bad administration, I try to sign up for next semester but it seem to be imposible in this college. now I am going to have to apply for another college because this one is not available. they denied my financial aid because of the unprofecional help that the staff gave me.

This school will literally have you attending for 5 years or more just for an associates degree. Certification programs are hard to register for because you have to meet certain credit criteria. Like seriously for just an certification program? Ive been in this school for over 3 years and Im nowhere near done. My expected graduation year is 2018 but what they dont tell you is that you will definitely be there two extra years. School will make you take non college level english and math class that will literally make you waste almost two years mind you this not even part of your general ed yet alone having to take classes for your major. Its ridiculous wonder why the graduate rate for this school is so low bcuz people are better off going elsewhere. Currently Im expected to attend fall 2016 but im really speculating. Also financial aid department is a mess they act like money is cmon out of there pocket and there completely rude.. Calling the school is worst will have you on hold for almost 10-20 mins max. Paterson campus offers the most programs but is not convenient for most students living throughout Passaic County. The bookstore staff are thieves will give you hard time buying your books back. Couselors are lousy and useless especially at the Passaic campus. My advice to all future students, stay away from this school and attend Bergen Community a much better school with graduation rate being higher than pccc.School just wants your money and also this school recently was on the news for not making the school a four year college because of how long its taken UG's just to graduate. Firstly, I want to say that the brand-new music technology program here is very good. Too bad all the classes were at the additional cost of an annoying 45-minute commute to the Paterson (which I'll be referring to for the rest of this review as "Dank City") campus.

It's gotten quite obvious that this establishment majorly caters to their city students- the ones who merely have to walk to school or take a short ride on public transport. For a northern country native like me? Just another animal in the farm they leave to fend for itself.

I will admit that while the school itself is decent, what gives this review 2 stars is the absolute atrocity that is the pathetic excuse of a "college bookstore" they have for students to rent textbooks from. I would rather go through a semester without a textbook than deal with that toilet again (and depending what teachers you have- you may never use the book they blatantly charge you MRSP for). Everything from their scheduling to their operational policies is in extreme disfavor to the student who actually had to travel...not to mention they've given me the wrong book almost every time I've ordered from them.

Also, the store is in Dank City, the toilet* of NJ. And ALL students (regardless of what they have to do to get there) have to return books in-person; and no, you can't take it to Wanaque or have it shipped.

That wouldn't be as bad if they didn't give you only TWO DAYS to do it, then give you crap for showing up a day late. Oh yeah, and good luck finding parking if you don't have a Dank City lot pass.

If you live outside of Dank City or the surrounding towns and you dare attend while having a major that the Wanaque campus conveniently doesn't host...you're a brave soul. Someone needs to write a book about you.

And for the love of Christ, whatever you do, stay the crap away from that bookstore. One word: AMAZON.

*there was a night shooting outside the school about a month ago. and some kid threw himself off the 8-story parking lot roof last year.

I am a panther. What makes this college the worst is dealing with mood swings of the administration staff. Registrar is terrible with explaining things they are only good for getting class schedule.The fafsa staff is never helpful especially if you call on the phone. In person their demeanor alone tells you if you going to have a good conversation of bad one. Some of the professors are tolerable to an extent as long as you can understand him/her during a lecture. When trying to reach a dr at the school to maybe change your major you will be on a waiting list forever and never get a follow up call. When you come to this school because of the reasons commercial just know that most of the reasons about the staff is a gimmick. This 2yr college will turn in to an 8 yr college if you get the misleading info from some of the staff. Just be ready to get the run around if you have a bad counselor.
