P.S. 191 Mayflower

i am now 20 years old. i went to ps 191 from kindergarten to 5th grade (1998-2004). i still find myself remembering and missing 191! the teachers are great and so are the academics! i learned a lot here, not just academically but about life!

It is clean but it is very small even the lunch room

PS191Q School is an average NYC public school; my two children went to this school for two years. The administrative staff is very racist especially the parent coordinator. She never talked to any parent. The PTA in this school is big JOKE; most of their members are picked by the parent coordinator so there is never any involvement from any other parent. Academically, the school pushes students to get high scores on citywide tests. The whole focus is on to do well in standardized testing, so students are taught only up to very basic requirements’, nothing more. I think the only reason this school gets good citywide testing score because 75% of their student are Asian and their parent are very involved in children’s education.
