Everyone was very nice, helpful, and friendly -- the office was clean and modern. I have no complaints about the professionalism of the office or anything like that, but I feel slighted by my experience all the same.

I was told I needed a root canal in one of my rear teeth -- but that my insurance was maxed for the year, so it would have to be temporarily capped and wait until the next year cycle.

This was after dealing with various other small problems in my mouth: in my opinion (as a non-dentist, of course) the largest problem should have been cared for first? Again, though, I am not a dentist and I don't know these things. It simply seems the sensible course, though: that which is most damaged ought to be fixed first before one worries about aesthetics.

Anyway: the temporary cap was applied, and all was well for two months. Then, while I was eating cereal, the temporary cap shattered in my mouth. I went back to have it re-capped, and the same thing happened: a few months later, the temporary cap shattered in my mouth while eating.

I decided to go to a different dentist. Without needing to do a root canal, this second dentist sealed everything up. It's been years and the troublesome, root canal "needing" tooth has given me no further issues thanks to this second dentist.

I really think Dr. Olin is a very caring dentist. The office staff is friendly and follows up with a phone call the next day. The new office is really beautiful.

I was desperate to see a dentist, i was just visiting the area. I read the above statement but still went keeping in mind what i had read. I too requested pre-certification for everything, x-rays, procedures and what not. My questions were really not answered. Will my insurance cover this? "they almost always do" or "they should" or "i think they do". I even ask them to check with my insurance. "We will send you the bill upon talkin to your insurance" giving me no estimate if it will be $10 or $1000. Then when i finally called my insurance, and had things sorted out, they sent me a bill for MORE then my insurance ask me to pay out of pocket. really focused on the money, not that much on the service. The dentist is alright, but I would recommend to find a better practice.

When I was a patent here, one of the procedures that I approved to have done was to have a temporary bridge made. I requested a pre-certification be done with my dental insurance. Dr. Olin's secretary later advised me that the insurance company had agreed to pay 60% of the cost. I then agreed to have the procedure done.

The insurance company rejected the claim in it's entirety, temporary bridges are not a covered procedure, and Dr. Olin insisted that I would be completely accountable for payment.

They changed their story then and told me it was my responsibility to pre-certify all work with my insurance company. My argument then was that 'I was not told by the assistant that it was my responsibility to pre-certify the work, I was told that the work had been pre-certified by the assistant. If I had been given the factual information, I would have declined having the work done.

It was only a temporary bridge. It was not a necessity.

They referred the case to a collections agency and I have been taking my family to another dentist ever since. I would advise any of my friends to do the same.
