My son and I started training at NYMMA in 2012 and we both love the art, philosophy, and the instructors. It is very difficult to find a school that teaches a genuine and effective art balanced with a friendly and collaborative environment. The knowledge, skills, and passion that the instructors bring everyday really makes it the best school I have ever trained at. We train at the Brooklyn location and it has the most amazing facilities.

As for the art itself, it may seem simple on the surface but I am still working to perfect the skills I was taught during my first week at the school. The art teaches what is equivalent to black belt techniques in other arts the first day and gives you time to perfect it through out your training. It focuses on simplify, efficiency, and effectiveness and now I take that same approach to everything else I do.

I highly recommend this school to anyone interested in a martial arts, but know that it takes commitment with a willingness to push yourself past your comfort zone, and the instructors and other students will be there to support you.

I have been training at NY Martial Arts Academy for many years, starting from the Little Neck location. As an older man, I was always weary of where I could go learn martial arts without getting treated differently because of my age. Immediately at NYMAA I felt right at home. All of the instructors are very welcoming, always greeting you and making you feel comfortable. NYMAA is somewhere where I will stay for a long time because the art they teach, Jeet Kune Do, is truly the most fulfilling art to study. Definitely try this place.
