Dr. Thomas is fantastic. You will almost certainly have a little bit of a wait at the office, but it's for good reason. Dr. Thomas is very thorough with both his examination of your injury and his explanations of what will be done to treat you, and takes the time to listen to your concerns/questions/comments. I have been seeing him for a ligament injury to my left hand, and I have never left the office with questions, nor have I had to email him later with any.
His office staff is also really great. During my treatment process, I experienced a death in the family and also some concern over a potential re-injury of the hand. Dr. Thomas' office handled both situations (which required some extremely short notice rescheduling of appointments) very very quickly. I received a call back on the same day -- in fact, within an hour or so of calling them, even though they weren't in this office location for one of the events. They are really on top of the issues that come through their office, which is something that cannot be said of all doctors in NYC.
I also have somewhat difficult/rare insurance issues, as a military dependent covered under the Tricare plan. Dr. Thomas and his office have done a lot to make sure that I've been able to be treated with minimum hassle, and he also recommended me to a really top-notch physical therapist. It had been very difficult for me to initially find a hand surgeon in my network in this area that would treat me, so him taking the time to provide an option for me rather than sending me to do my own research was something that I didn't expect but greatly appreciated.
Overall, I would definitely recommend him to anyone who has a hand injury or condition. I can't say enough good things about him and his office. By far, the best medical experience I have had in NYC.
