I can honestly say as someone who has trained at a handful of schools in the past that I have had the best experiences training at North South BJJ. Adam and Karen are two incredibly talented and humble professors of their art. Completely ego free environment with amazing people! I would recommend to anyone considering getting into BJJ to come try their free trial class before even looking into any other schools. You will not be disappointed! OSS!!!

North South is a very welcoming, clean and organized Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school. On display throughout the school walls are Adam Peterson's many, many earned medals at high level competitions which lets you know you're getting quality instruction. Adam who is the owner and instructor greets you and makes you feel at home right away. I would recommend this school for any beginner or veteran who is looking to train and compete or just stay in shape.

I had a blast at North South Jiu Jitsu last week. This was the first time I had ever trained and I couldn't have picked a better spot. Although I have a wrestling background, I didn't really know what to do and Adam Peterson gave me excellent instruction and the confidence to roll with the other experienced grapplers. All in all, a great place to train and look forward to going back!

Hard to believe this level of world class instruction could be right in my backyard in Montclair NJ. Adam and Karen have both won at the pan-american and worlds stage and you can clearly see why when they teach. Very detail oriented instruction, ego-free environment, and most importantly, classes are fun. The academy is clean and the temperature is just right. Warm enough to get a good sweat and keep those muscles loose. I have trained at many, many jiu-jitsu schools in my day, but North South JJ is definitely one of my favorite. World class husband and wife black belt duo.

North South is led by two world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitors that have won at the world stage. There are lots of schools to choose from, but very few that have such successful, skilled and detail oriented instructors like Adam and Karen Peterson. As a brown belt myself in jiu jitsu, having trained and instructed by many across the years, I can honestly say you will not find a better bang for your buck than learning from these two. This is an ego free, safe, yet competitive place to learn and start your jiu jitsu career or continue it! I'd highly recommend stopping in for a class and know that after one class with these two highly skilled grapplers, you and your whole family will be hooked!
