I just got off the phone with this store and I am surprised at the manipulation tactic used on me to try to get an extra $10. I called and asked for a delivery of a $20 Napa Cabernet (something like Mondavi). The guy on the phone proceeds to tell me that the cheapest Napa Cabernet is $30. Seriously? If I am asking for a specific wine it's because I get it all the time.
I like to surprise my family with nice wines for the holidays and birthdays (Sassicaia, Opus One, I even been known to bring Screaming Eagle to a birthday party or 2). Well, they just completely lost my business and thousands of dollars from me for a cheap ploy to get an extra $10. Word of mouth is strong in Newport too since it's a close knit community. I will not be recommending this store to my friends who live here, instead I'll be touting Buy Rite, which has a huge selection, is cheaper and just 2 blocks away.
