BAD BAD BAD!

Used their services for moving about 2 years ago based on some good reviews from the web. Experience was otherwise. They damaged half my furniture / bags while keeping it/ bringing it from storage. The guys who dropped it at the storage facility were different from the ones who picked it up and brought it to the new place. So obviously, they had the other guys to blame for any damage. I have yet to see my insurance check from them - although the claims company (ACM) issued the check to the movers within 6 months of the move, I have not received anything from this company for more than 18 months now despite repeated phone calls and follow up e-mails. The person who issues the claims check seems to be on a permanent holiday!

Their quote was wrong even though I gave them exact details of all my furniture. The actual moving guys wanted more tips to stick to the pre-arranged quote time and office guys who gave the quote were of no help when we questioned them on wrong quote.

ALL in ALL a SCAM

ELAN, NEW YORK MOVERS OWNER. HE CHARGED EXTRA INSURANCE TO GET MORE MONEY. THEY MOVED MY PINBALL MACHINES TO FLORIDA. THEY FORCED ME TO PAY FIVE GUYS FOR THE TIPS. THEY BROKE MOST OF THE ITEMS. HE WANTED FOR ME TO TELL HIS INSURANCE A HIGHER AMOUNT, SO HE'LL BE COVERED, AND HE'LL TAKE THE REST OF THE MONEY. AFTER I REFUSED, THE OWNER, ELAN, KEPT REPLYING TO MY TEXTING THAT HE WAS GOING TO PAY. FINALLY IGNORED MY CALLS. NEW YORK MOVERS ARE CORRUPTED AND RIPP OFF INDIVIDUALS. DO NOT USE THEM.

The people in the office are nice but the service is terrible. The movers who came to pick up my stuff and bring it to storage showed up over an hour late then had the nerve to blatantly ask for a tip after they were done loading rather than wait to see if I would give them one on my own. Now, every month I get my storage invoice and the amount I owe is always too much and never the right updated amount due and they over charge me, or don't charge me at all and charge me double plus a late fee the next month after I set up automatic payments. And if you call to try and get things fixed, don't expect the person you need to talk to to be there or for them to call you back because it won't happen.

Do not belive ANY quote given to you by this company, even if you have an in house review and quotation. they undervalue the quote but on e day of the move tons of hidden costs spring out of the woodwork. in my case the price of my move move more than doubled.
the moving guys themselves were fine but the dodgy practises of this company are awful. save yourself the hassle and use someone else!
