Can't think of Coney Island without going to Nathan's for a hotdog. I went on a busy day where it was packed inside, but don't let it deter you, the lines move at a quick pace. I was impressed at how hard the employees work to get you your food at a reasonable time. The hotdogs are juicy and so are the burgers. There's plenty of outdoor seating but the food is portable enough you might as well take it to the boardwalk.

If you are anywhere in new York this is one of the places you just need to stop. It's one of the best places to get a hot dog and the atmosphere is... Unique. There's nothing like being in coney island and having a real nathans hot dog so, what are you waiting for?

They have hotdogs, fried seafood, and burgers.
Patio seating outside.
Hot dogs are a bit expensive - chili cheese dog was about $5.
They put just the right amount of topping.
The hot dog had a nice crisp pop to it.
I think I would prefer a regular dog next time, as the toppings overwhelmed the hot dog.
You can get sauerkraut or grilled onions on the side upon request, and there's the usual red, yellow, green condiments for you to put on yourself.

Not just hot dogs! Why isn't anyone mentioning that they serve frog's legs, lobster bisque, raw clams, fried clams, corn on the cob, wings, cheese steaks... and coffee? And they have always had this much variety. My first trip there was during the Kennedy admin! This is NOT the little Nathan's fast food corporate chain hot dog stand on the Boardwalk. If you want the original Nathan's, it's on Surf Avenue.
