Motor Vehicle Commission NJ

I brought my brother (who is Autistic) to the Lodi DMV where the guard seemed annoyed when I told him I have to tag along with my brother because of his disability. We ended up leaving bc we didn't bring proof of residence (required for first time applicants and although we had over 6 points in identification).

The next day we decided to go to Wallington DMV where when presented with the same situation, their gaurd walked us over to have my brother's documents personally read by the supervisor. Two thumbs up!!!!!

The best and speedy place. The African American lady in the front was so informative and nice. I have to give a shout out to Elaine. She was the KINDEST person behind the counter. She' the lady with blond hair. I missed my number and as another lady was making a scene, she took me in and got my situation sorted in less than 20 mins.

The first time I called the DMV in five years. Website gives contact phone number and hours open until 5:30PM, M-F. Great!!!! I have time!! t's 4:55pm. Well, it's closed. Phone message says they close at 4:15. Gosh, I love the DMV. It consistently misses even my lowest expectations.

I love this place so much! The ONLY DMV in NJ where I've been literally in and out within an hour! On three separate occasions, I've gotten my license renewed, I've gotten new registration, and my daughter has gotten her new provisional/teenage license--all with ease. The staff isn't all that "friendly" per se, but they're certainly not that rude! Other DMV agencies should take lessons from them.

I've only been to this DMV twice. The first time the staff was nothing but attitude. The woman behind woman the desk rolled her eyes and responded to anyone with a question condescendingly. Like she'd rather just sit there and do nothing. I mean, if you don't like your job, quit! They're still stuck in the 1990's at this place. Super slow service, incompetent employees. I left that experience behind thinking I'd never go back to this location again but I completely forgot to renew my license and needed to get it renewed ASAP so I went back forgetting about this last experience. I went tonight, their late night. I got out of work and ran over in an uber, got there at 6:45 - and sat on a long line outside for 40 minutes in which only 3 people were called inside. Everyone on the line would peak in and could see there was no one there. There were employees gathered around the information desk just talking!! No one had the decency to come out and let everyone know they wouldn't be seen because "they were to busy." The few people who were called in came out upset because they'd waited all that time on the line and when they got inside there was no one there!! WTF?!
