Had the crispy pork salad. All salads should be more like that salad. Everything else was delicious.

Perfect little New American. Amazing cocktails (Akil!) and happy hour deals, tasty food (spice fried chickpeas at bar!), rustic decor, and outdoor seating. Casual yet special.

The squid dish (a small plate) was one of the worst plates I've had all year. The squid was extremely tough and chewy. The only flavor at all seemed to be a smear of plain mayo on the plate, and a few tiny crumbs of chorizo. The textures were terrible. I choked it down only because I was starving. The turnips were better. They were quite oily, but that was the only ingredient saving the overall flavor, so I'll take it. The salad was very boring, as were the cocktails. The only plate we genuinely enjoyed was the oyster hush puppies. They're great. The service was also good and this is a lovely location. But we were really disappointed by the food overall.

Two of my favorite things in the world are eggs and then bacon. Monument Lane just happens to cover these two well. Many of the dishes comes with and eggs on top and of course just order bacon to the meal.
We were having brunch before Transfiguration of our mind and soul with choral music. The bespoke rustic farm to table kind of food. Brunch wouldn’t be brunch without some Bloody Mary and Mimosa. Bloody Mary was good but not the best I’ve had.
I got the pate sandwich and other church ladies got the burger and an omelets. The pate was fried with an egg on top with a spicy spread on a very fresh soft sesame seed bun with a salad. The juicy burger with bacon on top had the very same fresh soft sesame seed bun with shriveled looking fries that were quite good actually. The omelet was well an omelet. Seen one seen them all as I say it.
The enjoy meal came with either tap or sparkling water! My kind of place. It was a lovely casual brunch on a mildly humid New York day. Good food and better conversation.
