Montclair Speech Therapy: Lori Caplan

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease 4 1/2 years ago. My neurologist suggested I try swallowing therapy; this is how I came to meet Lori Caplan. With thanks to her vast knowledge and skillful techniques, my sessions with her were an ultimate success.

I am a school-based speech-language pathologist. Lori provided Vital Stimulation therapy to a student on my caseload with dysphagia (swallowing impairment). Within three months, he advanced from a restricted texture diet to consuming regular food. His chewing abilities have progressed tremendously. He also demonstrated improvement with liquids. Lori is an excellent feeding specialist. The strategies she utilized produced remarkable results. Besides being an exceptionally knowledgeable clinician, Lori is also an incredibly compassionate individual, who goes above and beyond for her clients. She spent countless hours communicating with me. Lori was always available to answer my questions, responding quickly to e-mails and phone calls. It is truly a pleasure to work with her. Lori, thank you so much for your kindness, empathy, and hard work. The rapport you have built with all of us is hard to describe. It was amazing to watch you change someone’s life.

Lori Caplan worked with my 6 yr old son after his teacher suggested speech therapy. We had a very positive experience working with her, and would definitely recommend her to other families. She and her staff greatly assisted us in exploring our insurance benefits and treatment plan. She was always professional and caring with our family and our concerns. My son loved working with her, and the therapy helped him correct his speech issues.

My Insurance company advocate found me Montclair speech within 2 days we had and appointment my husband Dave had a stroke back in June that affected his speech we met with Lori my husband who was having a hard time with all of this she made him feel very comfortable, he was recently discharged from speech he did an amazing recovery with Lori we thank you so much we couldn't have gone to a better place.

I called this place to schedule an appointment for an initial evaluation for my son. That was on Saturday. They assured me I will get a call back since their "team" needed to "check my benefits". Fast forward to Monday, I called after 12:30 pm( they assure me they would call me by Monday noon) the "team" had not been able to verify my benefits, really?? this process usually takes less than 10 mins. By Monday afternoon I received a call and voicemail saying that my son "Aiden", needed a referral from his doctor and that as per our discussion she did not have anything available for Friday morning. Here is the funny part, MY SON'S NAME IS NOT AIDEN, and WE DID NOT TALK REGARDING AN APPOINTMENT. This office or I should say "team" should get their stuff together. By the way I waited until today, almost Thursday to write this review. At this point I am not interested in your services.
