Milk Bar's cereal milk is truly delicious, but I'm fairly certain isn't worth the price it goes for.

A great space all around for dessert or a snack, and you need to try the crack pie

Crack pie is the same consistency as the plaque that forms in your arteries as you eat it, but so delicious.

This corner bakery is a member of the MOMOFUKU chain, so they continued with the quality and high standards and prices. I tried the apple pie and it was fantastic, they also have the official peanut butter pie and some delicious cookies. The space is limited and i only saw 1 seating area.

I own a small cake/sweets shop in Nashville, TN called Sophisticakes, so my husband and I frequent NYC as often as possible to do "dessert research". For this particular trip, our first dessert stop was Momofuku Milk Bar. Created by and made famous David Chang, who hosted the Netflix series "Mind of a Chef" during its first season.
We got the "Greatest Hits Package" - Cereal Milk Soft Serve with Cornflake Crunch Topping, a Crack Pie Slice, a Compost Cookie, and B'day Truffles. So excited to try everything!...
Some might think you're getting these huge servings of dessert (which is quite normal for the South where we are from), but in NYC, things are much more pint-ly portioned...which is actually great for our waistlines I guess... And we usually split anything we get so we can try more things!
Anyways, the Cereal Milk Soft Serve was about a 3-4 oz. cup (overflowing) and really did taste like cereal milk! The cornflake topping was a nice salty contrast to the sweet soft serve...probably my favorite of the bunch.
The Crack Pie was an oat crust with a butter/sugar filling. It was, meh...okay. A little too dense and overly sweet for our liking. My mom has a chess pie that would rival this any day!
The Compost Cookie tasted like a seven layer bar in a cookie form, but again was too dense and overly sweet for our liking. A salted nut of some kind in the dough would have probably helped offset this.
Finally, the B'day Truffles were a cross between an uncooked cookie dough and a cake batter, covered in a crunchy sugar crust. This sounds amazing, and the initial first bite was great! The more we ate though, the more we couldn't figure out if the middle should have been more cake-like, even though it did say it was a truffle. And again, too overly sweet for our liking...needed something to contrast it. This was my husand's favorite though ;)
Now heading home to wear off our sugar high with a hot shower and a good night's sleep...
