mid island car service

Called for a ride to my house from the mall...dispatcher said 10 minutes ... Half an hour later no car! I called again and they said another 5 minutes....10 minutes later the car comes. Next, I needed the car to into Brooklyn. Two days ago it was 52+ toll. Today to go to the same address was 60+ toll! Lady was very rude when I explained I paid less literally two days ago. Would rate less than 1 if I could, very unreliable!

I worked for Mid Island for about a year, about 3 months ago I had issues with the weekday night dispatcher, I huffed out, immediately quit and started driving for “Speed” another local car service. I was never so miserable in my life. Their cars were all wrecks, dispatchers were unsavory, rude and uncouth characters the opposite of what I had become accustomed to at Mid Island,The walls in Mis Islands office are covered with awards, Speeds walls are covered with flies. Speed has no policy as to driver conduct, personal hygiene ect.. I swallowed my pride and ran as fast as I could back to Mid Island after that reality check. Been smiling ever since.   

The worst experience of my life. Had a two year old and three year old waiting outside with the nanny in the freezing cold for 45 minutes for them meanwhile the promised wait time was half hour. 45 minutes pass- I call them up- they tell me it's another 20 minutes!!!!!!! R u serious?? !!!! No call no nothing. Pat on the phone says the other girl Kelly that took the call made a mistake, what can I tell you..... Seriously?!!!!!

I travel frequently and for years I've used midisland to take me back and forth from airports. Tonight after a long work week, they decide they can no longer be bothered to pick me up at the airport. Totally rude and unaccomadating! I even offered to pay the full far in advance and this price just was too lazy to write down the information and send a car. Never again.

The wait time is out of this world. A few years ago this company had their stuff together. I would call everyday to go to and home from work. They would give you an accurate time. The night dispatcher has actually called me warning it may be a few more minutes. Now, it's a mess. I understand they are not physics. They cannot give you an exact time. But there is a big difference between 15 minutes and 45. Today's wait time was 20 minutes. It's took 50 minutes. On top of that, the morning dispatcher has a constant attitude.

Despite that, I continue to use them because most of the drivers are great. They are pleasant to ride with, they apologize for the wait, and they will make a stop to the store without charging sometimes. When the dispatchers get their act together, and can give even a somewhat accurate wait time, I'll be happy to change my rate.
