Best store to buy PC parts locally, and they have a lot of affordable nifty little things that you may end up finding useful. Usually they have great combo deals as well, if you are buying things together like a CPU and mobo. Always a pleasant experience when I go there, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

I've been shopping at Microcenter for years at locations in the DC area. More recently the Yonker's location because it's the closest one to me now that I live in Stamford. I can tell you first hand that this is the WORST location I've experienced. I recently visited this location as I was doing work for a client in the Greenwich area. I went to microcenter to pickup a serial to USB adapter. I went back to my client's site to discover that the box was empty. No big deal right, I'll drive back from Greenwich to Yonkers and explain to them what happened. I went back to microcenter frustrated and explained to them what happened. I walked up to the counter and the rep who was sitting at the counter did not acknowledge me at first, probably because she was watching netflix on her laptop. Very professional. I'm sure my client's wouldn't mind me watching netflix while i'm on the job either. Anyhow, after she had finally noticed me waiting in line (i was the only one in line) she asked me what the issue was. I explained it to her. She immediately called the customer service manager, Zach, to come out and take a look. I explained to him my situation and what had happened. Without saying anything, he disappeared with the empty box and my receipt for about 10 minutes and then returned. He began to process something on his computer at which point I asked him what the resolution was, he said he was processing a return. I explained to him that i needed the cable to finish the job that I was doing and that i'd prefer to actually get the cable rather then them process a return. He rudely said you can go get the cable and come back over here and we'll swap it out. I went to the aisle, got the cable, and went back. I explained to him how inconvenient this was as i had to sit in traffic on the way back here due to them not checking their inventory and that this is the second time that I've bought something from them with pieces / parts missing. He didn't acknowledge me at all and just did the bare minimum. This really annoyed me coming from a customer service background, especially because his job is to make sure customer's are happy and leave with the intent of returning. Needless to say I'm done with this location.
While this was taken care in a matter of minutes, the fact no one care's about me as a customer is somewhat bothersome given the fact that I've spent a lot of money at Microcenter and have even gone as far as bringing my clients with me to the store for their IT needs.
This is not the first occurrence of bad customer service from this location, last time it was with a printer. I bought an open box printer from them and nothing was included, no cords, ink, or user manual, but the rep insured me that nothing will be needed. I went back to return the product and customer support didn't extend an apology or even suggest a replacement or solution. I'm glad I drive a hybrid though, Stamford to Yonker's is no short trip, but that's okay now since i'll be either going to best buy or amazon/ newegg. Plenty of online retailer's that do a much better job then this place.
I'm done with microcenter's terrible staff and inconsistency as a store. It's not worth my time anymore to drive here from Stamford, and in the future if i need something that i cant get at best buy, then i'd much rather pay amazon or new egg and wait a few days. At least with them you get the product that you pay for, and you don't have to deal with incompetent and uncaring managers. Hopefully microcenter decides to open a location in CT sometime in the future. Until that day comes, i will not be returning to Yonker's or recommending this location going forward.

Needed a printer ASAP, went to the store staff was not too eager to assist . Finally, a team member acknowledged my presence and I informed her what iam looking for. She wasn't too much help bad enough I didn't know the intricate details of purchasing a printer. Finally, I chose a small CANON PIXMA 2520 AND bought ink. Got the device home, hooked up, input glue...... and not working... after several failed attempts .....discovered that the printer did not come with the appropriate cord USB from printer to laptop. This is where MICRO CENTER failed the associate should of warned me that the printer needs a cord, without one it will not work. I had to go back out to another store STAPLES and get the right cord. Got back home, did the minor connections again-------PRINTER STILL NOT WORKING...DONE returning today.... and will not return to MICro CENTER AGAIN.

Need PC parts? Come here. Need some spare part that other stores won't have? Come here. This place is a great replacement to the distance memory of Circuit City that was there so long ago. They have a wide selection of PC parts, laptops, printers, and tons of accessories and cables.
