Prices were on par with most other tech companies. Sales tax is only 3.5% so you save there. Staff were helpful even though it took a while to hunt one down to ask a question. Staff seemed knowledgeable but didn't really test them. Long line but moved quick

Let me start by saying I love Microcenter! I was blown away when I visited my first Microcenter in Fairfax, VA. As an electrical engineering student and avid electronic development enthusiast I was like a kid on Christmas when this location opened in NJ, but all good things must come to an end.
The "hobbyists" electronic section is always a wreck. Their are no employees with any knowledge or enthusiasm for MCUs and half of the modules and components are empty boxes from shoplifters.
The website does not reflect the actual in store stock and when/if you find your product you will then be subjected to a 30 minute line to check out. Finally arriving to the register you will be greeted with a barage of questions regarding your address etc with no opt-out options.
I understand why product sections with smaller pricing points (eg. Hobby Electronics) would be less of a priority over large profit items that bring the store more revenue but; that is no excuse to poor service and presentation.

I will end with this; be mindful of the up pricing of typically online only items. You will pay for the instant convenience

I love this store. This is like all in one package type of deal. You have fully loaded products, and you have DIY parts to build any powerful products. In addition to that, they also have their tech service. I have purchased laptops from them since 2007, as well as other accessories.
The only thing that I wish they can do is, bigger space and more location in NJ. It would be better to have "private space" to test out product that inquires loud noise test, such soeakers. Have rooms set ups already so you can test out your items prior of purchasing them to see if it will fit your style. But I guess these can wait for now.

Best computer store in North Jersey and with the discounted tax. I love getting electronics here since it's cheaper than anywhere else I go. I don't even have to wait for shipping cause I can get it at the store. Easy returns can be made here.

Here's the thing, I like the store, it's easy to find what I need and they have basically everything I'm looking for. However last night I went in to pick up a processor and a power supply for a new gaming rig I'm building. And the staff was really nice, except for the fact that even though I was the one asking if they had a certain part and who was buying it they directed every comment and question to my friend Matt. I get that it's probably more common to find guys building their own stuff and not women but honestly I'm so annoyed that they assumed that it was his part or he was the one building it when I'm the one who asked and even threw in that it was me building it. They would barely look at me and just kept talking to him about it even when he looked at me for an answer to their questions and decision on if I was going to go with the refurbished power supply or switch to something else. It will probably be a while before I go back.
