In 1976 I had a terrible motorcyle accident which left me with the possibility of losing my left leg. At 21 years old it seemed like like a life sentence to jail. I went to Jacobi Hospital where initially they helped me in there emergency room but after that the care was not there and my leg became badly infected . I then transfered to Westchester Square hopital where my physician connected me with Dr. Richard Memoli . Under his care and through many more operations including skin graft and bone graft he was able to save my leg. I lost about two inches of my leg and have to wear special shoes but that is nothing compared to the alternative . I and my family are forever indebted to him for allowing me to have a normal life and raise two great daughters that with a healthy leg I have enjoyed a good life . He is a great doctor and person .
