Pretty decent burger restaurant in Morningside Heights. I've eaten there at least 2 dozen times. The burger taste and quality is consistently good. The staff is okay- friendly and always accommodate order substitutions and customizations. The salads aren't great, but the other appetizers are solid. In terms of ambience the room is pretty dark, even during the day. There are definitely better burgers in the city, but Mel's is a good choice if you're in the neighborhood and wanting a burger.

The best place ever, the staff is really nice, the atmosphere is cool and nice as well as the prices. I had a problem with my debid card amd the manager was super polite. ;) i highly recommend this place

outstandingly friendly service today. burger and fries tasted great! they have quite a range of beers to select from and prices are ok. I'd recommend it.

The burgers are incredible. The beer selection is amazing. Service tends to vary a lot though, since it's mainly college kids trying get a job. Aside from that it's perfect.

One of the best burger places in NYC! Great atmosphere and always great music. They have a nice selection of delicious burgers and be sure to try the amazing garlic fries.
