Sensei Sonny Mayo is an amazing instructor. I have been in the martial arts for over 21 years, and have met many great martial artists, and Sensei Mayo is one of the greatest. In addition to teaching self-defense programs to the public, I conduct hand-to-hand combat trainings to military and law enforcement personnel. Sensei Mayo’s martial arts skills are very good, and what most impresses me is the real life applications of his teachings. I was lucky enough to attend a short training session/demonstration a few years ago and wish I could train every day with Mayo and his associates. I am in federal law enforcement now, and the techniques he teaches are perfect for law enforcement and also for those looking for self defense. The few things I was able to be shown during that short session were intuitive,effective, and simple. Not so much complex fine motor skills but more gross motor skills that won't be hard to remember in a fight. Anyone that wants amazing training with effective and excellent instruction should go here. You will not be dissapointed.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a seminar of Sonny Mayo's Knife Fighting hosted by the Krav Maga school I attend. In just a short time I came away with some immediately useful skills that blend well with my own reality based martial art. As someone who also trained in Close Quarters Combat as a Marine I appreciated the mission oriented and tactical approach of Sonny Mayo's martial art style. Most of us train to simply survive and go home and some need to train to survive , overcome and continue on, and Mr. Mayo's system addresses both those approaches. I look forward to future seminars.

Master Sonny Mayo is an excellent instructor with a lot of experience in teaching weapons and self defense based martial arts in general. His teaching methods make even the most advanced techniques seem simple. He is a very genuine person who passionately teaches the knowledge he has acquired through the years.
