Many years I've been coming to Masago. Their portions have become smaller, fish is poor , and the management has been changed. First of all the sushi itself is the size of a dime. They have a new management and I wouldn't recommend it also my mom is annoying.

My friend had taken me here for July 4th, and wow was I impressed! She ended up getting several sushi rolls, while I stuck with gyoza and shumai; the food tasted delicious and their presentation was on point, not to mention the portions were nicely sized (not so much food that you'll be stuffed, but not skimping either).
The only issue that I had with this place was the service; the waiters were very polite, however, they did take quite long preparing and serving our food, especially because we were the only people in the restaurant at the time. Regardless of that, I would definitely return for some more food!

I am a sushi enthusiast... I have been to many sushi places, however nothing compares to this place. They are simply the best. Yes there are times when the place is crowded but the service is always on point and sushi is always fresh. Where else can you eat sushi for 2 people for $23 dollars

I always drove past this place but hesitated to stop in due to the discount sign. Usually when there is discounts for food something is wrong. I decided to take my wife tonight to check it out. We were disappointed! They are definitely struggling to hold onto their business. I really do feel bad for them. But, anyways I hope they improve to continue their business.
We ordered 4-5 rolls of Sushi. The presentation from a distance looked wonderful until you start digging in to find out otherwise. There was inconsistency of the roll sizes, the fish and avocado was really messy and mush like mash potatoes, specialty roll ( Six Flags) was breaking apart before lifting it, the fish was warm in the philadelphia roll which it shouldn't be, the entire food aspect was sloppy and rushed. It cost $38 which is not expensive at all. However, the quality it was given in was worth about $15 in my judgement. Also, they gave me soda with about 6 small cubes of ice which melted completely in about 5 minutes. Soda was also stale. I would never think that a restaurant in Ridgewood would do this poorly. There is too much competition for mistakes. I know I sound like a complainer but I take Sushi food seriously. Its not only about taste. Its about quality and presentation. My wife and I will not return to this place.
