La Lanterna

A great place to enjoy a meal with a group. Menu is heavily Italian and caters to those who like many courses. Menu has lots of choices but the specials rarely change. Get their early as they have limited seating, especially in the winter when they lose the outdoor area.

The food, atmosphere, and customer service are all wonderful. Everything I have eaten has been absolutely delicious, and I was so touched by the kindness and compassion of the owners and staff. My family came here to celebrate my daughter's graduation from her school for children with significant special needs. Not only did all seven of us at dinner enormously enjoy every beautifully prepared appetizer and entrée that all of us ordered, we were treated so well and my daughter was made to feel so comfortable and at home, and was treated with such respect and caring. The food alone is delicious enough to move you to tears, but the way that my daughter's special day was made even more special by these beautiful people has made me tear up each time I think about our experience here.

This is my favorite restaurant in Ridgewood. Joanne is a doll. She remembers your name and treats you like royalty. The food is delicious.

A little off the beaten path on the other side of the tracks but this is a true local spot with excellent service. Family owned. Highly recommended.

La Lanterna is hands down, my favorite restaurant. From the moment I walk in the door and am greeted by Joanne, I feel like I'm in for a visit with family. The wait staff is attentive (and often includes son Christophe and daughter Marianna), and Paul, the chef (her husband) creates delicious meals to savor. He truly creates taste sensations. I never feel rushed, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, and you get a great value for your money.
