Maritime Parc

This is my rating after two experiences with Maritime Parc-- 1) Booking it as a wedding venue: I went blindly to see the place and was really impressed with the physical building itself. Very clean lines, modern, and unique... not to mention STUNNING views of NYC and the Statue of Liberty. I was immediately SOLD! Well not quite... next comes service. I arranged to meet with sales person Elizabeth W and she was AMAZING! She greeted us with sparkling water, was very patient, knowledgeable and fair when it came down to negotiating the terms of the deal. She was pleasant and really easy to work with. I called upon her many times after our initial meeting and she was always accommodating to receive my calls and return my emails right away. Needless to say, I ended up booking with her and we are so excited to host our wedding at Maritime Parc.
2) Elizabeth encouraged us to come for dinner at the restaurant one evening to get a taste of what the chef's cuisine is like. It was phenomenal! My fiance and I had great service and though we weren't there to meet with Elizabeth, she came over to greet us and make sure that things were going well. So for these two experiences alone, I am giving the place 5 stars. I'll review again post my wedding night which is happening in Oct 2016!!

Such an enjoyable night! I arrived a bit before the rest of my party and Cathy was the sweetest hostess, she showed me to the bar where the bartender Rich made me the best old fashion I have ever had along with good conversation as I waited for my friends. When everyone arrived we made our way to the dining room and had an amazing dinner. The service was great and we impressed by the attentiveness of the manager checking on us to make sure everything was perfect!

Food is good, interior is very nice and clean, location is great.

I reached out to Maritime Parc in the hopes to host my wedding there next October of 2016. I received a phone call from Elizabeth Winship to gather some information and discuss scheduling a tour. I explained to Elizabeth that exclusivity was important to my fiancé and I and her immediate response was "What's the issue with more than one wedding at a time?" After explaining to her that is a personal preference of ours (which I shouldn't have to even explain) she snapped back with "Well we're a business and if you want the entire venue to yourselves its a fee of $15,000" Wow. I get that they are indeed a business. And I understand that requesting a venue to host only your wedding on any given day when they have the capacity to host 2 would definitely incur a substantial rental space fee. But her tone and attitude were completely uncalled for and are what completely turned me off. I should have just hung up right then and there. Nonetheless, my fiancé still wanted to schedule a tour since we really liked the location (we wanted a beautiful NYC skyline view) and had read a ton of great reviews online. The day of our tour we decided to bring my grandmother along with us to make a day of it and possibly have lunch. Our appointment was scheduled for 1pm on Monday July 27, 2015. We got there a few minutes before 1pm and were taken to the restaurant area to wait for Ms. Winship. The restaurant was completely empty and we were waiting for 20 minutes before we decided that this just isn't going to fly. A person who is a Director of Sales and has 1 hour slots booked for tours throughout her day should NEVER make a prospect wait. I was hoping after her unprofessional demeanor during our phone call she would try to compensate by at least showing punctuality on the day of our tour. When we tried to contact the manager Mark SEVERAL times, the girls at the front desk would try to pre screen the call and always said he was "unavailable." He also never returns phone calls. This place is not deserving of our time, consideration or money and I certainly wouldn't wish Elizabeth Winship to handle anyone's wedding. Her carelessness, rudeness and lack of professionalism are a detriment to an aesthetically beautiful venue. Your wedding day if one of the most important days of your life and anyone in charge of that should take that into account. If they don't, find another venue. Which we thankfully did.

Anytime I come back to Jersey City, I visit Maritime Parc, very good food, nice place inside. Prices slightly high except on Thursdays
