I took a seven-day cruise with Mar-A-Mar Travel in August 2016. As a seasoned sailor, having been on so many boats I can say it was a Fantastic experience. The Greek captain Yannis shared his docking experience with us. We were able to take the help and practice sailing according to our level of experience. The owner of the company, Sherman, was also on board and has provided suggestions for visiting the islands and for fitness oriented activities. I will never forget our afternoon/evening group walk to look for the “lemon tree forest” and possible “Zombies” on the way.
I was also impressed by Altanio and Sherman love for animals. They woke up very early in the morning to provide much needed treatment to street kittens on an island.
There were group lunches and dinners like in a big happy family.
The evening of my birthday (the third day of sailing) the crew showed up with a cake and candle that paired great with the Greek champagne I’ve provided and made me feel better so far away from home. I’m planning to go on another cruise with them this year.

I recently did one week on a sail boat in Greece with Maramar Travel. This was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. First and foremost during all communications and all pictures of the boat on the website nothing was said about having to share a bathroom- the picture shows a sail boat with 5 cabins and 3 bathrooms, upon arrival to my surprise I had to share a bathroom with a stranger the boat I was on now only had 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms (for 6 people). Next problem comes in when the website mentions free light breakfast in the morning, I asked the captain what was for breakfast and his answer was what did you bring?!- which leads me to the next problem, nothing was mentioned not via email or on the website to bring lots of food, it does mention bringing drink water but thats it, thankfully I came prepared and bought some snacks and beer before getting on the boat, however the man in charge of the tour and his girlfriend that he brought along and the captain didnt bring anything to eat or drink and my beer and water seemed to go very quickly. Another thing is you would kind of think when spending this kind of money that someone would do some cleaning of the boat during your week long tour... nope they may take the trash out but for the most part the boat will be full of flies and the smell will be horrific. Talking about the smells, when you have to share a bathroom with a stranger and then you cannot flush toilet paper just try and thing about the smell in that bathroom, its disgusting.
Another thing to mention is that my tour was originally supposed to leave out of Mykonos but was then changed to Athens due to the high winds, this is understandable, but in my current opinion of this shady company I think that they never planned to leave out of Mykonos, obviously this change caused me to incur extra expenses for ferries and a car service.

All in all this was extremely overpriced very poorly managed company. I hope no one else has to endure what I went through.

Fantastic! I originally did a day trip to Sounio, but sailing and the boat and the guys were so nice that I ended up doing a whole week with them! For me those were the perfect vacations! We moored in beautiful bays, snorkeled first thing in the morning, did some serious sailing and all in good mood and calmness of the crew! Bravo guys and thank you!

If you want to motor from island to island this is the way to go. If you are looking to sail, contact International Sailing Federation. July 2015, 7 day sailing trip, including sailing lessons, not once did we sail and not one sailing lesson. Save your money.

If you want to see the islands of Greece, this is the way to do it. The trip host, Sandra, was great. The "skipper", Fiori, took us to islands and bays that were off the beaten track as well as the ones everybody knows about. His experience, both for sailing and places to see was second to none. They were both dedicated to myself and my wife having a great time.
