A beautiful ride over the river. Trams ply every 15-20 minutes or so. MTA card is required at the Tram Plaza gates. Great view from inside the Tram. High above the ground, aligned with Queensboro bridge.
This indeed is the best way to reach Roosevelt island.
Once inside the island, there are RED buses which run in every 15 minutes to the Northern end, and the rides are Absolutely FREE !

This tram is so cool! Though it is a public transport, definitely a tourist attraction! You will see incredible views of east river and queensboro bridge

I like transportation and public transit systems, so I decided to take this neat little tram for fun. Make sure you stand on the south side of the tram to be able to see the beautiful Manhattan skyline!

Taking the tram is a wonderful way to see this city. You get to see the skyline of midtown, and Queens Borough bridge. The ride is comfortable and the tram is spacious. The "Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park" is worth the walk after getting on to the island.
