Not my favorite beach to go to in Brooklyn but the riff raff of Coney Island isn't hanging around and you can actually enjoy sitting out on the sand without being harassed. The park is always clean and the bathrooms, while gross are manageable.

Avoid using the beach bar as it costs the earth..however the beach is the best in Brooklyn much better than Coney Island or Brighton Beach.
It's clean and tidy without the weirdos you get elsewhere.

This park (beach) is actually very nice. The picnic area is sizeable, plenty of tables and available trash cans. The beach itself was impressive and the water was not bad for Bay water, that is. Definitely worth a trip!!! Stay away from the concession stands, super expensive.
