A few years back, I bought a 1932 model M Steinway that was in precarious condition. The seller had asked a technician to treat its verdigris problem with hot wax and what not, but it became clear over the next year that this was just a patch that made things even worse after a while. I thus had the choice: either sell the Steinway for its parts and lose a lot of money or invest a lot of money to have the entire action and interior rebuilt. Estimates in my geographical area were prohibitive, and I had almost resigned to bite the bullet and sell when I did one last Google search for piano restorations. Up came Lindeblad's ad, with an online form on which I could explain my case. Just for fun, I sent it off, and within 30 seconds my phone rang--Todd Lindeblad. What followed was one of the BEST business (and so much more) experiences of my life. Not only was their estimate significantly lower than anything I had seen before, but they were also incredibly efficient, professional, yet personal in my dealings with them. Within two days (and many after-hour phone conversations with Todd who doesn't seem to ever call it a day at work), we had arranged for my piano to be picked up within two days, to be fully repaired and stored for as long as needed, and returned when it was convenient for me. For--the added issue was that I was leaving the country for nine months three days later. The day before I left for Europe, the movers came and picked up my instrument. 90 minutes later, FedEx came by on a Sunday to drop off a "care package", containing three different baking mixes with a lovely hand-written card, basically providing me with comfort food for the time that I would be without my piano. Just nine weeks later, I received notice that my piano was done, and when I asked for some more info, they e-mailed me a long video with one of their employees demonstrating the piano's new sound and appearance. The Steinway was returned to me last week (early February 2016), when I was on a brief visit to my home town in the US, and I can only say: best investment of my life. I now understand why Steinways from that period are called instruments from the "Golden Age" of Steinway making: the sound is golden and velvety at the same time, from bass to the highest ranges, it is balanced, full, and distinctive, and the action is so well calibrated, I can finally play trills, runs or big chords and everything in-between without getting tired in my hands or back. I am so glad to have decided to go this route--this instrument really deserved to be restored to its old glory, and I look forward to getting better again as a pianist with this beautiful piano under my hands, when I am back in the US from my time abroad. A huge thanks to Todd Lindeblad and his staff, they have been wonderful, and the degree to which they care about both their customers and the pianos they restore is evident in everything they do.

I can say that I looked at several different options to restore my fathers 1926 Steinway L grand piano. The only people that really understood and new what I wanted was Lindeblad.
I had a complete restoration done and I'm very pleased with the work! The Lindeblad family knows what a piano like this means to me. From the pick up to delivery they were so good at discussing with me the things I wanted done and finding out about its history.
Once work was finished and the piano arrived, I couldn't believe it was the same piano!!! It looked like it just came off the assembly line. Wow, Lindeblad, you reached all my expectations with the restoration of this family heirloom. Thank you!!!!!

Lindeblad Pianos is staffed by highly competent, dedicated technicians that provided a superior experience in obtaining my new piano. At first I was reluctant to buy a piano from a company so far away. After my initial conversation with Todd, and a review of the information he provided I felt confident that Lindeblad was a reputable company. Then I was contacted by Rob who went over the shipping and delivery details. At last I got a call from Paul who spent several hours going over the characteristics of the piano and what would best suit my needs. My piano arrived and it was truly a life altering experience - it is beyond beautiful and the sound is gorgeous. I can recommend Lindeblad without hesitation to anyone who appreciates a superior instrument.

We wanted an heirloom quality instrument for our kids to learn on but also a beautiful centerpiece for our very large living room. I played piano growing up but knew very little about buying a piano, other than knowing that Steinway is the highest quality. I was initially very nervous about making such a large purchase sight unseen, but we live in Massachusetts and given my lack of expertise, I wasn't sure that driving to NJ to see the piano ahead of time would necessarily produce any additional useful information. So we took the plunge based largely on the online reviews and several reassuring, no-pressure conversations with Todd and made our purchase entirely by phone. We selected a 1916 Steinway O which was rebuilt for us and delivered this summer. It is gorgeous. The piano teacher loves it.
But I knew it was top-notch when I had the piano tuned for the first time, about 6 months after delivery, by an experienced technician who also restores pianos. He was really impressed! He inspected the piano inside and out, every inch, and said, "they certainly dotted every i, and crossed every t!" I could tell he was dying to play it. When he was finished tuning it he marveled at the bright sound and treated me to a private Christmas concert in our living room. As he left he congratulated us on buying such a beautiful & high quality instrument, and noted that "we got what we paid for." We are completely satisfied and look forward to enjoying the piano for many many years to come. Thank you to everyone at Lindeblad Piano for doing such meticulous work and making our entire experience such a positive one.
