Hardwoods are my thing. There is no other yard in the city of New York that has a better selection than Le Noble Lumber. As a woodworker and a boat builder, I can always rely on this yard to supply me with the best quailty and widest selection.
In addition the staff is always willing to help with any and all questions i might have in regaurd to finishing or construction of my projects. I would highly recomend this yard to any woodwoker, from professional to home project builder..Thank You

I wanted to buy some ash and walnut. After waiting a while to be helped I sat down with this guy who was apparently annoyed by the fact that he was working alone. He had no patience for me but felt free to complain to me about customers calling and asking to speak with someone who wasn't there... He quoted me prices and wrote me a ticket. He warned me that I wasn't free to pick through the walnut, else i'd be charged 20% extra. Well, fair enough, I understand what that's about and appreciate how that means I'm not dealing with old stuff everyone passed on... I told the guys downstairs that I wasn't supposed to sort through the walnut so as to avoid the charge... they encouraged me to just grab what ever I wanted. The selection wasn't too bad and i choose almost entirely right of the top. I rustled my own boards and left a neat pile, pulled all my planks in under 20 minutes and took my ticket upstairs. Cranky dude tells me that he's gonna charge 20% extra based on me pulling my own boards (which is what EVERY yard i go to has me do...) I get frustrated and say I'm only taking the ash. At that point Mr Cranky crumbles my ticket and throws on the floor, tells me he not going to sell me anything. When I try to pursue the ash through a different employee he gets in my face WWF style yelling that I better leave before...
I wish I could remember his name. The one thing I know is that he wasn't the owner.
There are better yards with better service, I would recommend most any other over Le Noble.
