La Bussola Ristorante

I am never disappointed with the quality and selection of their classic Italian menu. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting and the waitstaff is knowledgeable and professional.

I have had scores of meals over the course of many years. La Bussola is my personal favorite restaurant. Ambiance and service have always been first class. I have been proud to host international guests in the gourmet food industry, with satisfying results. But, it is the food that makes me continue visiting. My guests say that the Osso Bucco is world class, but I haven't eaten meat since the 70s. For me, it is the salad, the sautéed greens, the seafood. They are great at the indigenous cuisine of LI, shellfish. Zuppa de pesce is fantastic. My late father was a connoisseur of linguini with white clam sauce. Simple right? But he said it was the best he ever had. Lately I have discovered a new favorite, organic salmon, pan seared. I am going back to have it again with my family on Saturday. For years I tried to copy their snapper livornese. I made many great copies, but the best is still on the menu at La Bussola. And they serve the fish with little potato croquettes. Yummy!

The best italian food around here, its a must!!

Coming from great-cooking Italian ancestry, I've always struggled with finding an Italian restaurant that I truly enjoy. My Sicilian father and I both agree that La Bussola offers great, authentic tasting Italian food. It may be weird to say, but they have a great Caesar Salad with delicious tasting dressing (not too heavy). This is a nice place to take Italian family members who are hard to please with restaurant dining. Of course this is a great place for people of every nationality as well!
