L'Artusi

Bravo! Bravo! Bravo. I'm addicted to Italian food and had the opportunity to taste it in many places, including several towns and cities in Italy. L'Artusi is clearly the best Italian I have ever experienced in US.

Here's what you need to know:
- People love this place. There's regularly an hour+ wait for tables and its always well worth it
- The contemporary italian and american fare delivers consistently on flavor, texture and experience
- The wait staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and will guide and construct a meal to your liking
- Ambiance is off the charts. The mood appropriate lighting offsets the sleek, modern feel to the place

L'Artusi has it all. Great ambiance, unpretentious staff who provide above average service and serve up fantastic food, an excellent wine menu and friendly locals at the bar. This is a West Village gem and my only regret is not being introduce sooner. Bravo L'Artusi, you deserve all the positive feedback you receive.

Just-enough sized plates of great Italian food coupled with a great wine list suitable for every palate (and doesn't burn a hole in the wallet) makes for a great evening. Not in the mood for wine? Not problem-a nicely fleshed out cocktail list is enough to suit any type of palate.

Phenomenal! Myself, my 16 yr. old daughter, and her best friend visited New York June 6th-8th to see Wicked. I had already researched restaurants, and since I was anxious to try the Linguine Nero, I contacted L'Artusi to see if we could secure reservations. No reservations were available for the dates we would be visiting, however we were advised to stop by anyway. We did as suggested and, after a short 30-40 minute wait, was able to eat comfortably at the Chef's counter. Of course, I had the Linguine Nero and the kid's ordered the Spaghetti and Roasted Quail. All three dishes were exceptional! The wait staff was super friendly and helpful and the ombiounce was very relaxed. Our experience definitely left us anticipating our next visit!
