These movers were really nice and ready to get to work as soon as they got to our apartment. They worked quickly and carefully. Thanks, guys!

With L & L movers the stress of moving was taken out! Not only did I have an excellent pack job for my kitchen and dining room, but the movers were fast and careful! Our china dishes and other breakables were in good hands with the moving team L and L sent us! The respect to us was clear but also the teamwork of the moving team was strong and with a great camaraderie that encouraged us in our move from Hoboken to Jersey City. We would recommend them to others without reservation! They exceeded expectations! We have used them previously and we and our extended family were impressed by this latest move which they did in a truly excellent fashion.

I used L&L for a move in April of this year. My move was 0.9 miles (within the city of Hoboken), not exactly a case where travel time would be an issue. Due to this, I was confident that the move time given to me in the estimate would be acheived; I was assured that it would probably even come in below the estimated time.
The high expectations I had were in for a rude awakening; the crew took their sweet time getting my (already boxed and ready to go out the door) belongings into the truck. They didn't even start on my bed until they were about two hours into the move. I had to pay for four guys, and rarely was there even one in the apartment. Even accounting for one guy that stays in the truck, I don't know what these guys were doing in between getting stuff on to the truck and getting back to my old apartment.
The kicker was when I had to go back to my old apartment to get the hardware needed to re-assemble my bed; they had forgotten to keep the hardware with them when they took the bed apart initially. Upon returning to the move-in site at my new apartment, I drive by the truck and what do I see? One of the guys, who's on the clock on my dime, EATING AN ICE CREAM CONE. I would use more colorful language here, but it's yelp, and I don't want to have my review taken down or be banned.
I brought this (and the fact that it was taking much longer than it should to move my stuff) to the attention of the head guy, and he basically made excuses for it. Then, at the end of all this, he informs me that they went OVER the estimate by a 1/2 hour, and ended up having to pay an extra $150 more than I had planned on.
In the weeks after the move, I tried calling and following up with the owner, and all I got is a run-around and avoidance, which led me to write this review. For the record, I rarely ever write an online review; for this company I was motivated to make an exception.
Being a business owner myself, I bend over backwards to take care of any need or concern my customer has. Needless to say, these guys do not. Moral of this story: stay far, far away from L&L movers.

I scheduled L&L for the day after Hurricane Sandy (what luck right?) They called me that morning in an effort to perform my move. When they realized they could not, at no fault to them, they continued to reach out to schedule. When we finally picked a date, the elevator in my old building was still down. They PERFORMED THE MOVE ANYWAY at my request and walked all of my items down five flights of stairs. The move was completed in an hour and a half. The price remained the same as the quote despite the extra work. I appreciate the efforts and would recommend L&L. Many thanks.
