Intoxx Fitness - Grasmere

This is a fair review and not written in spite, just a concerned customer hoping for some change. Also, I am only talking about clove location.

There is only one positive about this place, price is on par with other gyms and they have many machines. Now the bad.

1) For the fellas- rickety ass old machines that are all going to fall apart soon or get this place sued. When most of your equipment works "funny" or hasn't been updated since 1990 you've got no respect for your own gym.
2) For the ladies- Absolutely filthy facility. I've never seen a dirtier gym for the last 25 yrs and I've been going to gyms all over the country. anybody that says differently is full of it. If you visit you I promise you will see layers of grease, grime and off course staph infections waiting to happen. Most gyms have janitors or staff to clean. Not intoxic. Only one box of sani wipes that is away from main gym area.
3) Staff- Nice, yes. Friendly, yes. My only issue with these guys/gals is that they are lazy af. I have never seen them wipe down machines, clean or re-rack weights since I have been a member (3yrs). Instead they sit at the entrance and talk to each other or post passive aggressive notes saying " don't be slob, re-rack your weights". Please! Why do they pay you to sit and NEVER wipe equipment or re rack weights?
4) Lastly, If you are self conscious at all, the only scale they have is in front of all the gym for them gander at you.

Don't trust me though, come by and see for yourself.

I just started earlier this month n I love it ,I have a great personal trainer ,very motivating ...Clean gym great classes .I love the shakes I recommend all my friends to this gym

Hands down, best gym on Staten Island. I've tried LA, Retro, and Planet fitness and not one of them comes close. Intoxx, formely know as Dolphin fitness is a gym that you go to train and get in a great workout, it's not a fashion show like LA Fitness, we have legimate weights unlike planet fitness and you don't get blinded by the McDonalds colors in retro. Clean facility! Staff is great! Wide range of cardio and weight equipment! Intoxx is the only gym that I know off that sell protein shakes at an affordable price! Would def reccomend this gym to everyone I know!

I have never enjoyed going to gyms much, but after Intoxx has helped me change my mind by being a comfortable place, great equipment and a great staff (awesome instructors) that make you feel at home and help you accomplish your goals. The location and hours are very convenient and the price compaired to the other "chain" type fitness centers is a great value. I feel much better, have lost weight and gained strength and have more energy than ever. Give them a try, they will help you reach your goals and change your life. Thanks Intoxx!
