Interior Motif

I contracted Interior Motif to install Hunter Douglas top-down Bottom-up Honeycomb shades in my living room, my master bedroom and my guest room. Initially when I called I was scheduled for a free consultation where the owner Stephan came out and showed me different colors and swatches.

I am super happy with my shades. They look great in my home. During my first consultation the lead Consultant Stephan came to my home and suggested that I get the top-down bottom-up shades since the view outside of my window isn't great. I already had a color in mind but he helped me pick a color that matched my decor perfectly. Once I selected the product I wanted I placed the order with him and about 2 weeks later his staff called to schedule my installation. I received email follow-ups that kept me informed on my order and the staff was great when helping me pick a installation date that fit my schedule. Overall my experience was great and I would recommend Interior Motif to anyone who needs shades or blinds.

I would never recommend Interior Motif because of the owner Stephan! He is completely unprofessional and uneducated on his products. In all honesty it is one of the worst services I have ever experienced! I wish I would have used City Windows to save the aggravation. "Saving" with Stephan cost me literally to spend ten times the amount!

Terrible service from Interior Motif. Truly aggravating. Will never recommend and certainly will not use again. Instead, go to The Curtain in Palisades Park. I wish I had. I subsequently got a quote for same product which came in 26% less than Interior Motif.

In short, owner measured window incorrectly so when blinds were being installed 5.5 weeks after I ordered them, one of three did not fit. That's bad enough. But during the following two weeks, the owner and his staff consistently over promised then under delivered finally installing the missing blind on Thursday July 3. The owner promised to send me a check to make-up for their poor service. He never did. Owner could not understand why I was upset. No apologies for wasting my precious vacation time, having to chase him down to learn status, having to wait around while store staff figured out how to create payment receipt and so much more. His installer said that it's been a growing problem that the woman in the store schedules installations for time blocks when it's unlikely the product will be ready/available.

I found Interior Motif because they are a Hunter Douglas authorized seller, and I was considering Hunter Douglas for 6 windows in my 1 bedroom apartment. The company was very responsive when I called, showing up before a business trip within one day of my inquiry, and Stephen gave me an initial price for 6 shades and motorization that was around 10K. The quote was a scrawl on a notepad, and never presented as more than that. Subsequently, in Miami, I looked into solar shades, and called Stephan to inquire about them. He sent me a photo of an apartment in Hoboken with solar shades, then called a couple of days later to say that he thought it would be around $800 per room for the shades, and that he wanted to send out his team to remeasure, and would I provide a $500 deposit. I gave him my card number, but later had second thoughts. What business asks you to give $500 towards a price for a quote they have not delivered. When I received the credit card authorization the following day, I canceled the project with them in email. Never having received a firm quote, not having authorized the charge, and not even having had the "free measurement" their site advertised, they never returned the "deposit". Again, mind you, they had never so much as provided a quote or measured, much less ordered. I will also be reporting this company to the BBB. Stay away!

Stephan and his team are professional and accommodating. We had a very specific budget and went in not knowing much about window treatments. Stephan was patient and thorough in explaining the different options to us and offering suggestions without upselling us. It was a pleasure doing business with Interior Motif and would definitely use them again!!
