Love this place. Good food with a great staff. Anna is one of the best. When my husband wants to go out to eat, he always suggest this place. If my husband wants to eat here, you know it's good.

Amazing lasagna, one of the best of my life and great service. What else would you want.
A hidden gem.

I have been here 3 or 4 times in the past year and am only adding a review as I think the place is better than the reviews to date suggest.
I do not know if I rate service differently (I am not a native) but I found it good service with nice food.
Was not particularly cheap - however that is not a problem exclusive to here.
Serving sizes were fine by me, I hate places which pile on tons of food which very few people are ever going to eat. If you leave here hungry you have other issues...
Overall 3.6 and happy to round it up to a 4 as all things considered Il Violino is decent and I'd say comparable to the other similar restaurants in the area.

Mediocre at best. Table service was ok, but host was aloof and unwelcoming. VERY cramped. Wine was just ok for the price per glass. Bread didn't even come with olive oil- just rock hard butter. Had some pasta fagioli that had the consistency of black bean soup I might get at a bad Mexican place with doughy pasta in it. Entree was a little better, but like the soup, needed a good amount of salt- not a good sign. Cheap store bought parmesan cheese for on top. Husband's dish was ok. Dessert, again, just ok. Had tiramisu with dry lady fingers and maybe a quarter of an inch layer of mascarpone on top. I'm not Italian, myself, but can say pretty assuredly that nothing about this meal was authentic Italian. Not inedible, just not good and certainly not for the price. I would honestly have rather gone to the Olive Garden. $160 later, lesson learned.

Please, if you care about your money, but even more about your taste buds, please never go in this place. The hospitality might also be nice, but the food, oh my gosh, is disgusting.
We ordered "Pasta e fagioli" which is a main course in Italian cuisine, but according to this place, it is a soup. Indeed it was so liquid and beans really had a can taste.
Then we ordered an Italian Antipasto Misto. Believe me, there wasn't anything Italian in that dish. Fruit, Bamboo ?!?!?!?!? and a little prosciutto but very bad taste.
What about Seafood pasta? We recommended to cook the pasta "al dente" but this was soft and obviously overcooked. I'm Italian so I can tell you for sure: that pasta wasn't fresh but they warmed it up for us.
Horrible, please avoid this place
