My daughter was a employee of this store and she told me of the non cleanliness. When she spoke about it to the manager she was fired . My daughter said there were maggots eating thru food. Expired food and the manager shorts the portions on the food to save money instead of givong quality service and food. This store is nasty in terms of service and management. The manager Josie is nasty and unprofessional when approached.

Hungry Howie in Co op City is terrible, waiting for 15 minutes for the order and another wait for over 30 minutes to serve your food. Do not ordered the spicy chicken cause is pure salt and you tell them about the presenting problem to that Spanish manager and he does not give a WHO. Playing loud Bachata music like they are in a club, shameless that they are my people, they just care about order outside via phone but they don't care who waits and you see people leaving constantly due to the wait cause they do not take the order even after 10-20 minutes wait. I would not be surprised if they go out of business.

Had to stand at the counter for over 5 minutes before someone would come to the counter to take the order. One woman who was standing left after waiting for a few. I would have to, if I did not have my family with me and the Chinese Inn Buffet next door was packed full.

The server had no grace, no interpersonal skills. Did not even smile, curt question asking for what I wanted to order. Had to check the menu on the wall when I asked a question on the salad. I was told that it would take 12-14 minutes for my pizza to get ready - which was a small pizza and Buffalo Wings by the way. It took nearly 23 minutes to come out. The wings were way too salty - it tasted like we ordered Buffalo Salt with chicken flavor. I took it back to the counter, asked the cashier to taste a piece - but no, he does not eat Hungry Howie Chicken Wings. Not surprising! He knows the crap that they made. Out of ten pieces, three of us took three pieces in total and returned all the remaining 7 pieces back. There was not even an attempt to resolve the issue. I had to even inform him that he should take care of clients sitting outside, before he would come out and let clients know that they have to wait more for their orders, as they were busy. They were busy, yes, as they were socializing inside - one guy, who definitely did not work there, or probably was an employee off-work, went right in with an employee and was inside for over 40 minutes socializing. We could see him from the outside. The pizza was good and the salad refreshing. Wings were horrible, service was pathetic!

There were about four groups of people who had ordered just about when we got our order. They were still sitting there waiting for their orders when we finished ours and left. Ensure you carry your wallet full of patience when you walk in here.

I will have no issue with driving almost a hour to get that delicious butter cheese crust pizza and an order of Howie bread. I first came across Howies when I moved to Florida a few years back. When I moved back to NY, a little part of me died because there were no HH's up here. As far as pizza restaurant chains go, nobody and I mean, NOBODY, comes close to you guys.
