Hudson Eatery

Came here through a groupon offer for lunch and enjoyed the food ,desserts, and mimosas. Since it was summer, I enjoyed sitting outside.

My coworker and I were here for lunch today (7/29) for the first time. Very nice decor, and very inviting, however, we waited for a very long time to be waited on, place our order and it took especially long to be served our lunches. We came very close to leaving the restaurant and then talked about having our lunches bagged, but decided to stay. The couple next to us couldn't wait and they left with their lunches bagged. They were visibly annoyed. I'm not sure why service was so slow today, but there was no explanations given, we were just told that the plates were being prepared (we were told that a few times). We then had to find the waitress to ask for the check and we even waited for our check. We are on our lunch HOUR and today's lunch was more like an hour and 45 minutes. On a positive note, the food was good and we'd like to return, but seriously, we can't make it a habit to be away from our desks and our work for that long. We were very stressed to say the least and had to rush eating our food . We were not very happy.

I really enjoyed the mac and cheese with bacon (but who doesn't love bacon?). I also had the spinach salad which was good with a healthy portion of cheese dolloped on top (I substituted goat instead of blue cheese).

Decent food with not a lot of frills at all. Service was probably the worst I have ever experienced. Walked in at 6:30 on a Monday night, the place was not crowded. Stood with my friend and waited about 5 minutes until someone from the bar area glanced over and vaguely gestured for us to sit anywhere, It took another 10 minutes for a waiter to show up and ask us if we were ready to order. We hadn't been given menus or even water at this point. We asked for menus and the waiter kind of shuffled away and didn't come back again for another 5 minutes, The place was still not busy and most people were only on drinks for had no menus at all. The family of 5 next to us got fed up and walked out because they had also not been given water or menus. My friend and I were going to a concert near by and we wanted to be in and out quickly, when the waiter came back with menus and water we let him know we were on a schedule and ordered right away. We both had soup and I had a grilled cheese, IT TOOK 30 MINUTES TO ARRIVE. We should have just walked out since we never had any more drinks than the water, but we were cold and hungry. After our food arrived the waiter never checked back with us and I saw 2 more separate people walk out. When we were done we tried to flag down the waiter but he ignored us, even direct eye contact. I finally had to approach him directly. Mediocre food, overpriced, lousy apathetic service, but lovely decor.

Went here with my Mom after seeing the Bethenny show... not sure what else is this far west! The place is huge and was empty, but the food was pretty good. I got sweet potato fries and the chicken club and it was tasty. Service was a little slow for how empty they were though. They also have a cupcake place attached that has a winner from Cupcake Wars.
