Howard Johnson Long Island City

The room was great for the price. It just wasn't good that the heater wasn't working and the tvs were small. Also they did not supply coffee in the room. But it was clean.

Worst experience ever! Made reservations online and when I arrived they asked for a additional hundred dollars for a security deposit and another thirty for Parking.. The room was tiny I could jump on the bed from the door, they didn't give us clean towels the next morning. There was construction going on right outside my window, and we had to keep our car keys at the front desk which was a hassle when no one was there.. At checkout they claimed they didn't charge me for my room and needed my card back I called my bank and it was on their part they were holding the money and had the clerk talk to them because they wanted to keep my deposit and they're printer was supposible down thank god I'm no dummy and had them write a receipt out! So much for paying for the parking being we had to park in the small lot in back in these big blue what look like car Jacks there was damage to my rental and again Thank god I got the insurance.. Next time I much rather sleep in the rental!! Should be No stars!!!

For the cost of the hotel a few amenities were not included. They didn't provide or have ice buckets and instead gave us a garbage bag for the ice lol. The bathroom door did not close properly and thus could not be locked. There was no chair for the vanity. And they failed to inform me when I booked the room that there is a one hundred dollar deposit on top of the room fee that is not given back for up to 3 weeks after your stay. Other than those things, the staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. And there is currently minor construction being done on the hotel. Overall I was happy with my stay.

Very small and inconvenient room, no place to unpack, the neighberhood is industrial and looks terrible, the stuff is unfriendly and the toilettery is very poor, no shampoo, no liquid jel,
And above all, on our weekend the underground was under constuction and it took very long and very complicated to reach the hotel at night on return. We asked for a better room and we were refused in a very impolite way and ton of speech...

Hotel is clean and well situated (neighborhood may looks shady at first but is OK). The building is new from 2013 and is well insulated against city noises and other rooms. Breakfast is good and service is decent. The problem is that maids don't make your bed or leave new toilet paper. Except for that we had a nice stay. Thanks :-)
